From time to time we are glad to welcome volunteers coming from North America and Europe to work with us.  These volunteers help us in many different ways, from helping the staff learn English to general office support to specialized technical assistance for our programmes.  All volunteers pay their own way and are responsible for their own expenses, though we may be able to help with lodging.

Volunteers who would like to come for four months or less need only send their CVs for our consideration and an idea of what they'd like to do while here.  Longer-term volunteers must undergo a more rigorous selection process; we strongly prefer that longer-term volunteers come with the support of a church, a mission agency, or other sending organization.

Please note that we are usually unable to support requests from students and researchers to use Friends Peace House as a base for their research.

For more information about volunteering opportunities, please contact us.
One of the most important ways that you can help is by praying for us, our programmes, our organization, the people that benefit from our projects, and for our country in general.  Pray for gacaca and for all those involved in it, that they would experience justice, healing, and reconciliation.   Pray for our staff and the witness they give in the communities in which we work.   Pray for the poor, that their needs may be met.   Pray for those in conflict, that they may resolve their problems in the spirit of peace.  Pray for those who are sick with HIV-AIDS, that they may find care and comfort.   Pray for those perpetrating violence, that their hearts may be changed.
Occasionally, we send out updates about the situation in Rwanda and about our work.  If you would like to be on the mailing list for this update, please contact us.
Connecting needy secondary school students with sponsors that can help pay their school fees was not one of the original priorities of FPH.  However, after many visitors expressed a willingness to help in this very personal way, we are setting up a programme that meets students' needs by connecting them with sponsors abroad.  We're hoping to further develop and expand this programme, including a dedicated webpage and the possibility of online donation.

In the meantime, if you're interested in assisting a young person in Rwanda by helping him or her with their school fees, please contact us directly.
